It was an afternoon like many others, I was at the hairdresser getting my hair done, I didn’t feel like reading the same old magazines and so I started walking around the saloon. I glanced at the products on a shelf and notice a nice little bottle. It said “Spray parfumé”. I didn’t even take the time to ask what it was before spraying it in the air. A heavenly perfume surrounded me like a cloud. It was the warm and sweet smell of hair after being at the hairdresser and light smell of cleaness that emanates from children, all together in one essence. What is it?, I asked. The answer: hair perfume. On that dayI wasn’t the only one who walked away from the saloon owning that bottle, as a matter of fact so did other three women who were standing next to me and who, I assure, went crazy when I vaporised the perfume. Just so you know, I’m talking about him. This is how my journey in the world of hair perfumes started. Hair stylists call them hair mist and they’re starting to present them as actual must-haves. In the eau de toilette and in the eau de parfum there’s a high concentration of alcohol, which makes the idea (which sooner or later we all get) to spray it on our hair not so advisable. Alcohol stresses our protective film and thus dries the hair. Here’s where the idea comes from: a product that, while giving your hair a delicate perfume, makes it shinier and more straight. Thanks to its nourishing properties, hair mist takes care of your hair making them more soft and silky. It is ideal for those of you who don’t like having a too strong smell and prefer to emanate a light fragrance, but also for those who want to add a personal touch to their perfume. Its actual mission, of course, is to eliminate bad smells, like smoke or food. Therefore, it is perfect after the shower, but even for a daily use, maybe after an “aggressive” night in some closed place. Among the best ones, let me mention those by Federic Malle, which other than having high hydrating properties, are very refined as regards essences. They say that at the moment Chanel‘s one gets more sales than N°5, and I’ve said it all. Balmain is super trendy among hair stylists, mostly in summer, because it was inspired by summer itself and created to remind of it! For a citrus like smell and a biologic hydration, try the Davines line, which is just great. If you like the Angel perfume, you should check its hair version which is said to be great: long lasting, even on long hair. If you have died hair, I suggest Show, created by the luxurious brand Givaudan, full of vitamins, with an antioxidant effect and with a super sweet and sexy smell, made of caramel, vanilla from Madagascar, crème brulée and coconut milk: irresistible. Some say that if used for a long time, these products tend to dry your ends a bit. But this is a problem I’ll think of in the future, if I ever do, For now, I’m all into hair perfumes!
