After months of shiny apparitions with ear-cuffs, earrings, necklaces, anklets and flowery jewels, and also after a famous picture where she was naked and wearing just a necklace, the model Emily Ratajkowski (“Emrata”, for us fashion addicts) revealed the mystery behind her passion (obsession), launching her first collection of jewels, a capsule collection designed for Spinelli Kilcollin. Not disappointing at all, actually enchanting and trendy already. They say that everything started from a vintage ring Emrata has bought some time ago. And so she got the inspiration for a jewellery line that reinterprets vintage with a Palm Springs accent. The collection is composed of golden pieces with diamonds, seven pieces of high quality making, inspired by Greek and Roman mythology and mostly by the goddess Vesta, protector of the home and the family. Thus, tradition, femininity and most of all Olimpus, with its fluttering peploi, its drapes and its rich, timeless and mysterious beauty. Perfect, most of all, like only goddesses are. I think that’s the reason why all of the capsule collection’s pieces (wonderful earrings, rings and necklaces) are circle shaped, being the circumference the most perfect of figures. Concentric circles, overlapping ones or one next to the other give movement to these precious and antique-looking jewels. It almost feels like we could find them at an exposition dedicated to some ancient population, laying on a blue velvet cloth. The collection will be available in shops and online at Barneys New York from the second of June
