If the sentence “sold out” doesn’t hurt you too much, dive with me in one of the most glamorous collections of 2017: Herdem x H&M. Many of you might have already heard about it, maybe even since the first announce, that dates back to last Jly. After collaborations with designers like Jimmy Choo, Versace, Alexander Wang and Kenzo, I was pleased and surprised to discover that the new collection by the brand that teenagers mostly love was in collaboration with an outsider designer, particularly popular in the English Fashion Week environment and in the whole international panorama: the Canadien, but based in London, designer Erdem. As soon as the collection came out it was already sold out. It’s not a big surprise, since the collection is wonderful. Flowery patterns, romanticism, exotic lines and fabrics, with an antique touch. Long dresses and sartorial pieces, functional details or deliciously useless. And many coup de théâtre. Like, for example, the strapless evening gown in jacquard fabric covered in snowdrops or the high-necked and long-sleeved one in black lace. Mohair sweaters have the colours of nature and the softness of English lawns. Doll-like dresses, with bows and retro lengths, are in antithesis with Doctor Martens’ inspired boots covered in tiny flowers. And also, slip-ons in flowery jacquard.A mix of femininity, playfulness and freshness. After all, these are Erdem’s main ideals, and it seems like he defined this season’s trends. In the fashion world they’re already talking about the Erdem touch.
