Also due to the recent conclusion of the Mido, the greatest international event dedicated to the eye-wear field (that this year reached more than 55 thousand attendances, its record), it is about time that we checked out new trends, in order to find out which sunglasses we’ll be wearing next summer. The inspiration is surely vintage, sizes are extreme, the most fashionable model is cat-eye and muses are the 1960’s divas.

Colourful, transparent, graphic and full of applications: here’s all the main trends for next season. Jackie Kennedy is the fundamental icon for Chloé and Etro‘s fumè glasses. Luisa Spagnoli is launching her first sunglasses’ collection, that will be available starting from April.

Every model is inspired by a great woman from the past: Breakfast at Tiffany’s Audrey Hepburne, Grace Kelly with her timeless elegance, Greta Garbo and her androgynous attractivity. The model by Stella McCarteny with white frame and Falabella chain is already iconic, just like the cat-eye model either in Tea-Rose melange or in total black.

Moreover the new sunglasses collection by Pomellato is already very popular: also in this case, a reinterpreted cat-eye model, very feminine and chic, mostly thanks to its transparencies and textures. Even Bottega Veneta was seduced by cat-eye frames and transparent details, and the result is maybe even cooler. Moreover, you can’t miss the new Saint Laurent collection and most of all its Monogram M3model, with sequinned golden frame in acetate and golden metal (the best detail: silver lenses).

Fumè lenses and over-sizes even for Gucci, that reinterprets the iconic brand’s texture in a golden version. Chanel, instead, chooses nylon and metal, light orange or pink lenses, like in this butterfly model, that resembles a stylised flower: very elegant and nostalgic.

Once again cat-eye for Fendi, that offers two absolutely exceptional models: Rainbow, with orange and pink triangular rock applications on a palladium base, and Waves, with a waves-inspired graphic pattern, that is already a must-have. Unusual and crazy patterns even for Dior, that in the collection “Dior so real” proposes the pantos shape and double-layered lenses with a golden and a fuchsia layer, for a “ripped” effect. Say goodbye to half measures.
