A healthy life doesn’t go along with all that food that, despite being extremely tasty, is both dangerous for our well-being and our good shape. I must admit that even I adore junk food, but I try very hard to limit myself and not abuse it, despite anyway always managing to satisfy my desires. How can I do that? I replaced junk food with other snacks that are just as tasty but definitely healthier. For example, I used to eat cream cheese, ripened cheese and fresh cheese, always with bread or crackers. Now I got used to eating chickpea, bean and pea hummus, which is delicious, healthier and simple to prepare. A great idea is to eat it with uncooked carrots, that can easily replace bread.

Our body deserves to be taken care of, which is why, instead of pasta, I eat ”courgette noodles” with the same seasoning as pasta

and instead of red meat I prefer white meat.
I can guarantee you won’t taste any difference between a regular beef hamburger and the dietetic one you can prepare on your own using minced turkey meat. By now even big companies realized it and are starting to launch chicken or turkey-based menus.
Moreover, instead of sauces you can use avocado, that is largely used among multi-starred chefs and is very appreciated for its nutritional benefits.

If you want to reinvent your “lame” salad, you should try to replace olive oil (which anyway remains the king of Mediterranean cuisine) with coconut oil.

In addition to that, I don’t use butter anymore, since when my sister introduced me to Ghee, which reduces the risk of heart diseases, helps you digest and get fitter.
On the other hand, what can you do when, while sitting on your couch, you get a sudden craving for chips and snacks?

Don’t fear: the best idea is to always have at home some almonds and popcorns (which of course you shouldn’t cook with butter but with as little salt as possible).

What about French fries? Try frying courgettes, that will satisfy your desire for something crunchy and tasty, despite being much healthier. If you love mashed potatoes, try and eat mashed cauliflowers. Or maybe test it on a mashed potatoes’ lover and I can guarantee he won’t taste the difference!

And finally, let’s move on to the painful point: what about those delicious sweets that are so hard to give up on? If you’re resolute enough, you’ll manage to replace even those, maybe with a fondue made of dark chocolate and fruits.
