Fashion addicted might know that starting from December most Benetton shops will offer a great surprise: the first capsule collection by the brand. Its designer is Stella Jean, whose father and mother are respectively from Italy and Haiti, and her capsule collection (United Colors of Benetton by Stella Jean) is a mix of genius, softness and energy.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Benetton, but this collection is definitely worth talking about, first of all because it is the first time that this maison signs a mini-collection with a cool designer, and then because I think Stella Jean managed to completely rediscover the true Benetton’s DNA, both as regards fabrics (mostly noble yarns, such as cache-mire and mohair), both as regards the style, that mixes the typical naive cocoon with trendy and fashionable elements.

Of course you need to appreciate the style, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be interpreted in the strict way. Why not match Navajo style elements, that embellish coats, skirts, jumpers and shoppers, with something classy and sexy, in order to achieve a completely new look?

The colors she chose are the most fashionable at the moment: night blue, military green and brick red. The collection offers wonderful palazzo pants, in plaited mixed cache-mire, the accessories, that go along with crazy skirts, very original ethnic coats, and most of all knits, which are the highlight of the mini-collection. My favorite piece: boots (in true leather) with micro dots and a very chic set of buckles. Mix&match of styles and cultures invites us to play and discover change.
