You surely must have heard about diets particularly fashionable among celebrities. The latest one is the diet even Beyoncè claimed to follow, which, though, instead of teaching us how to eat healtier, will only make us starving and could even turn out to be pretty dangerous, moreover, without guaranteeing a long-term result. I’m talking about the lemonade diet, made of three ingredients: lemonade, mix of water and salt and laxative herbal tea. The idea is easy to understand, but not as easy to strictly follow. Obviously if, for ten days, you only drink liquids and laxative products (even if natural ones), your scale will show a decrease in your weight. What is not sure, though, is that you’ll only be losing liquids and not also muscular mass, endangering in this way your well-being. The main aim of this diet, created by Stanley Burroughs, is to “detoxify”: but we all know that it is possible to do so even without taking any risk. Moreover, only drinking liquids doesn’t guarantee a long-term detoxification. After the first ten days, you’re supposed to start adding to your diet juice and soups, then also fruit and uncooked vegetables. Later you’ll be able to eat some meat too, but you’ll have to completely get rid of dairy products. This kind of diet could, in addition to detoxify, make us feel weary and not in a good shape…at least not if followed for a long period of time. It’s much better not to take any risk and follow the best diet of all, one that the whole world is envious of: I’m referring to the colorful Mediterranean diet: eat everything, cook food in a healthy way and practice a lot of sport, this is the recipe to live better, longer and with a smile on your face!
